One of the most popular family fun days on the North Coast. Large crowds of spectators gather to watch as the ‘home-made’ rafts race from the West Strand beach to the finishing line in the harbour.

Are you willing to brave the Atlantic Ocean to raise money for the RNLI? Participants should meet on the West Strand in front of Babushka for the 12noon start to dip, swim or bathe. Wetsuits are, of course, optional. Babushka will supply the brave dippers with warm drinks and tasty treats.
12noon – 1.00pm Paddle Board Challenge at West Bay
Come and support the race challengers from 12noon onwards. Watch the mayhem unfold with a series of short races and fun paddle board challenges taking place around the bay. This promises to offer good fun and enjoyment to both spectators and participants. It will also showcase the growing sport of paddle boarding in the local area.

2.00pm Yacht Club Raft Race Swim
The Portrush Yacht Club Raft Race Swim sponsored by AutoZone shall be approximately 1km in length in the West Bay, and should be a formidable swim due to the seasonal low sea temperature and the challenge of deep water swimming. The swim shall be open to both wetsuit and ‘skins’ swimmers who compete wearing lycra swimming costumes only. The swim will start from the south harbour wall.
